Wrist Social

Since the invention of the the Smart Device on Earth in the late 21st Century humans and the Federation at large have continued to embrace devices that allow the user to not just communicate with others but access the larger galactic community. The Social is the latest iteration of this device. All versions of the social are able to access the civilian LCARS and Subspace Communication systems. Starfleet authorized versions also interface with Starfleet Combadge, Tricorder and PADD devices. Truly taking the best elements of Civilian and Starfleet technology, the Social merges these convenience technologies into a single or suite of devices.

The physical device is similar to the Smart Watches developed centuries before, but integrating modern holographic and hard light technologies to expand beyond the small band around one's wrist. Customizable based on the user's preference, most utilize either their forearm or palm as the main interface surface. Additional windows depending on preferences can also be projected from the device.

Palm Social

For those who do not want or are unable to use the wrist device a physical device is also available. Similar in use as the wrist device many will use both in conjunction with the other for their day to day. Varying styles of this device exist, many of differing sizes. The most popular versions fold and are clear, but opaque options are available from select manufacturers.
